An interesting game for Sharks (8-2) which hosted in Southland 4th placed Tuatara (6-2). First ranked Sharks had an easy win 111-94. Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tuatara's 44. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Samuel Timmins (211-1997, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Rylan Jones (183-2000, college: Samford) contributed with 27 points and 5 assists for the winners. Sharks' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Robert Loe (211-1991, college: St.Louis) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for Tuatara. Sharks have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-2 record. Tuatara at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. Sharks are looking forward to face Saints (#4) in Wellington in the next round. Tuatara will play on the road against Nuggets in Dunedin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

Jets managed to escape with a 2-point win 99-97 on Friday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Jamal Poplar who led the winners and scored 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Jets' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Taine Murray came up with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for Whai in the defeat. Jets moved-up to eighth place. Whai lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Hawks and Giants. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
In the last two games of round 7 Bulls were smashed by Saints on the road 126-88. Bulls lost to Jets on its own court 103-112.
